Basil Falcone

Basil Falcone is the Founder and President of EnviroNova and is responsible for leading the strategic direction and growth of the firm. Mr. Falcone balances his leadership role of the firm with a hands-on approach to both business development and client delivery. His vision and outstanding client relationships have been fundamental to the firm’s triple-digit growth since its inception in 2005.
Mr. Falcone has over 25 years of experience directing environmental safety and health services for top-tier commercial, industrial and government clients including the EPA, USMC, NAVFAC, USACE, Caltrans, , Shorenstein, NASA, U.S. Air Force, USPS, BART, Intel, Dolby and numerous industrial and general contractors clients. During that time, he has led more than 5000 environmental safety projects and programs with particular expertise in hazardous materials and waste management and remediation, Facility closures, asbestos and lead abatement, mold remediation, authored over 5000 MSDS, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 environmental health and safety program design and regulatory compliance and permitting programs internationally.
Prior to launching EnviroNova, Mr. Falcone was responsible for delivering environmental health and safety consulting to commercial clients and government agencies at Mactec Engineering and prior to that at Harding Lawson Associates. His early career was at Waste Management of Alameda County where he was directing the development and implementation of their Environmental Health and Safety programs.
Mr. Falcone served for 7 years as Shorenstein Realty Services, Inc. Environmental Health and Safety Manager. Shorenstein is a national real estate investment, portfolio and management firm that has over 30,000,000 square feet of commercial office space headquartered in San Francisco. Mr. Falcone was responsible for the development and implementation of Shorenstein’s employee Environmental Health and Safety Program. Mr. Falcone was also responsible for all environmental document review for property transactions and maintaining all company records for past, current and transaction documentation. Mr. Falcone’s responsibilities included all aspects of hazardous materials at the property locations, which included overseeing all asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials abatement projects to support tenant improvements and construction. He developed and implemented the national Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Operation and Maintenance Manual to set up a system to approve, track and document all hazardous materials projects for the company. Shorenstein has remained one of the main clients for EnviroNova.
Mr. Falcone served for 10 years as co-chair of the international working group of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), providing leadership on the development of new chemical regulations and co-authoring the worldwide (PFOS) voluntary agreement to the World Semiconductor Council and all its members. He has worked successfully with all regulatory bodies in the United States, Europe and United Nations, and is a frequent presenter at national and international industry conferences. Recently, Mr. Falcone has been responsible for the environmental oversight for the $30 million dollar Closure of the Intel D2 Wafer Fabrication Facility located in Santa Clara, California. He was also presented from Speaker Nancy Pelosi the Small Business Recognition for EnviroNova’s work on the Golden Gate Bridge Doyle Drive project.
Mr. Falcone and EnviroNova were chosen by the EPA Region 9 Emergency Response Program to be the lead asbestos consultant in the 2017-2018 Northern California EPA Wildfire Cleanup activities in four Counties during the first phase of work of over 7000 structures. Mr. Falcone was also chosen by the EPA to lead the team during the 2018-2019 California Butte and L.A. County EPA Wildfire Cleanup activities during the first phase of work of over 19,000 structures. Mr. Falcone lead the efforts over the two fire season of 47 teams for which the scope of work included; fire damaged building surveys for asbestos and hazardous materials, perimeter area and worker air monitoring during hazardous materials removal, clearing and scanning all parcels, negative exposure assessments and supporting the EPA, START and ERRS leaders in accomplishing the goal of rebuilding of the devastated communities.
Mr. Falcone holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Dominican University and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco. He is a Registered Environmental Assessor with the State of California and a Certified Asbestos Consultant.
